What happens
Lou Costello learns he has inherited a fortune from his uncle and decides to buy a radio station, while Bud Abbott doubts he knows anything about broadcasting. Costello boasts of his plans, insults Ken Niles and his wife, and holds a reading contest for the job of announcer. Later, Costello and Abbott meet a pompous cracker manufacturer and an odd would-be announcer, and then Alan Ladd arrives and offers suggestions for the station. The program is part of the Abbott and Costello series, first broadcast on March 30, 1944, on NBC and ABC, with Bud Abbott and Lou Costello in the lead roles, alongside Connie Haines.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
