What happens

Lou Costello, having spent the day pruning his orange tree, shoots at a crow and accidentally hits his neighbor, Mrs. Bessie Beanbag, who has been picking oranges from his tree. Bud Abbott, Costello's partner, tries to help him settle the dispute, and the quarrel soon grows into a court case. The bickering between the two men and the neighbors runs through a comic sequence of mishaps, legal arguments and a jail scene. This episode of the Abbott and Costello series was first broadcast on February 1, 1945, on NBC and ABC, and features Bud Abbott and Lou Costello with Connie Haines and Elvia Allman. Freddie Rich and his orchestra provide the music.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
