What happens
Lou Costello tells Bud Abbott about his new girlfriend, Tessie Tinfoil, whom he met at a five-and-ten store where she sings at the music counter and sells perfume. Costello's romantic talk and his earlier breakup with Ruby Poole lead to a series of mishaps, including a barbershop visit, a manicure, and an attempt to get him ready for a dance date. The Abbott and Costello series, a comedy program, aired on NBC and ABC; this episode originally aired January 18, 1945, with Bud Abbott and Lou Costello as the leads, alongside Connie Haines and Elvia Allman.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
