What happens

Vice President Aaron Burr is rowed across the Hudson River to the dueling grounds on the Weehawken heights in New Jersey on the morning of July 11, 1804. Reporters hidden in the rocks nearby watch him and his seconds prepare the ground. Burr's longtime political rival, Alexander Hamilton, arrives by boat with his own party. The seconds examine the pistols and make final arrangements, while the two men stand apart and speak little. This CBS broadcast is part of the You Are There series, first aired on January 11, 1948, and is presented as a dramatized account based on historical facts.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
