What happens
Captain Lewis Forson commands the Star Cloud, the sixth ship sent to cross the galactic barrier, a wall in space that has destroyed five earlier vessels on the way to the planet Volta. Lieutenant Collier, son of a navigator lost on an earlier flight, takes the navigation post as the ship launches from Earth. Ship's doctor Smithson treats crew members suffering from a condition called space blues, and the men grow tense as the barrier approaches. The episode is X Minus One, first broadcast on April 24, 1955, and its transcript is partial, so the guide follows only the early portion of the story.
