What happens

Commander Warren and his Galactic Survey team land on a low-grade planet and find a junkyard of discarded alien engine parts. When the crew suddenly forgets how to start the ship's engines, Warren and Dr. Spencer begin to suspect an outside influence. X Minus One is the NBC radio series, and this episode, adapted from the Galaxy Science Fiction story by Clifford D. Simak, aired on 1956-02-22. Warren investigates a mysterious stone tower near the junkyard, where the memory-draining effects grow stronger. The crew's losses of memory and skill spread quickly, and the men must find a way to stop the source of the problem before they can leave the planet.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
