What happens
Elliot Dawn, a stage actor whose career was destroyed by drama critic Sheldon Craig, plots revenge after a bad review ends his prospects. He confronts Craig in his apartment, where the confrontation is interrupted. Months later, Dawn is rehearsing a summer production in Connecticut under director Leo Gilmore, with playwright Judith Haskell, and his resentment toward Craig grows. The Whistler radio program, a 1948 episode, tells this story of a man torn between ambition and rage.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
