What happens
Eddie Bowman and Marco Lorenz, who run a lending library, plan a bank robbery that needs a very small man to slip through a window. They recruit Shorty Johnson, a new tenant at Mrs. Miles's house, and lure him into their scheme. The episode of The Whistler, broadcast on September 3, 1944, is a crime drama in which the men believe their plan is foolproof. Their plot is built around the bonds kept in a vault and the small man they need to reach it, and the story follows them as they set it in motion. The episode is told in a sequence of scenes between the library, Mrs. Miles's house, and the bank.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
