What happens

Johnny Larson, just released after five years in prison, is recruited by Eddie and his partner Laura to rob the cannery payroll at a small northern California bank. Eddie has Laura photograph the vault and layout, and Johnny soon suspects he is being set up as the fall guy. The Whistler series, first broadcast on January 14, 1951, presents this story with the lead actors named in its credits. Johnny begins to plan his own way out of the scheme, which leaves him wary of both partners.

A small northern California town in the fog, and a boarding house where a bank robbery is planned.

Characters: Johnny Larson, Eddie, Laura, Bernie, Al

Listen for: Johnny's suspicion that Eddie and Laura intend to frame him, and the photographs Laura takes of the bank.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
