What happens

Peter Courtney, a wealthy San Francisco man, plans a large anniversary party for his wife Barbara, who prefers a quiet, secluded life at their country estate. Barbara is shaken when a former nightclub photographer, Myra Dorsey, is released from prison and threatens to expose Barbara's past. As the anniversary approaches, Barbara's secret grows more dangerous and she faces pressure from Myra's demands. Then a hit-and-run accident brings a stranger to the house, and Barbara must decide how to protect herself. The Whistler series aired on May 25, 1952.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
