What happens
Craig McKelvey, a foreign correspondent newly arrived in Hong Kong, is pressured by his old acquaintance Alphonse Cylendrum to file a false newspaper dispatch that will help Cylendrum close a deal for a valuable shipment of musk. McKelvey agrees for a large payment, but his editor's cable dismissing him changes his position. Frank Parksley, a correspondent sent to replace him, arrives in Hong Kong on the Malaya, and McKelvey must decide how to protect his career and his plans. The Whistler series presents this story, first aired on July 30, 1947, with Bill Forman as the Whistler.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
