What happens
Tom Braden, part owner of the Casa del Rey casino in the desert, schemes to rid himself of his partner John Warren and of Mrs. Hazel Simington, a wealthy patron holding a half-million-dollar note against him. Braden watches Warren, drunk and sent to bed, and then slips into Warren's cabana while the man is unconscious. Mrs. Simington, meanwhile, has a change of plans of her own. The Whistler is an American radio anthology series, and this episode aired on June 24, 1946, with Gerald Moore and Myra Marsh in the cast. The story follows Braden as he weighs his options and grows anxious about what the people around him know.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
