What happens

In the mining country of the southwest, Frank Maddox and his brother John compete over a silver claim in the town of Rainbow. Frank learns from a young woman that John has found something valuable, and he later visits John's cabin to take the maps and papers. Fifteen years later, Frank rules the mining city and is haunted by dreams of John, while his wife and daughter fall ill and die. Frank sends for his niece Doreen, who arrives with his assistant Anthony Watson. The episode is part of the long-running radio series The Whistler, which first aired on July 2, 1943.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
