What happens

Tarzan and the Gregory safari, guided by Tom, press toward the Forbidden City of Opar in search of Brian Gregory. Helen Gregory vanishes, and Tarzan leaves the expedition to search for her. Inside a stone causeway, Darnell and Tom find words scratched on the wall, apparently written upside down, that seem to spell Helen's name. The native bearers refuse to enter the taboo passage, so the party sends them back with a message for the French commissioner and goes on with only essential supplies. Inside the causeway they examine massive carved blocks, a shrine, and grim carved faces, and the men grow uneasy. The episode ends as they near the far end of the passage, where Larson has gone ahead.

Characters: Tom, Darnell, Larson, Helen Gregory, Tarzan, Margaret, Wolf, Magra

Listen for: Darnell and Tom reading the upside-down words scratched on the causeway wall and deciding the bearers will not enter the taboo passage

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
