What happens
Tarzan and the Gregory safari rest by a tributary of the Ubangi River. Wolf, a German member of the party, is angered after being drugged by a potion he had placed in Gregory's canteen, and he whips the local witch doctor, Mumbu. Tarzan intervenes, warns Wolf against mistreating the natives, and threatens him with the same whip. Wolf later meets with a man named Tom, who wants the safari's porters turned against the Gregory party. Back at camp, Gregory asks Tarzan to hold a map that Helen has been carrying, to show the route to Gregory's brother Brian. As a storm builds, Tarzan prepares the tents, and Wolf makes his own arrangements with Mumbu.
