What happens

Tarzan finds his friend Captain Lawrence in a deep stupor after a strange ordeal in the jungle, and suspects he has been drugged. Tarzan takes him to the village of the Snake People, where a remedy is tried to bring him back to his senses. Lawrence recovers and explains that he has been investigating a narcotics trade spreading through the city of El Hadi. The two men travel to the city, meet the colonial administrator Sir Archibald Chambers, and then visit the wealthy Jean Duprey, whose household holds troubling secrets.

The jungle of Africa, a village of the Snake People, and the city of El Hadi, a center of the narcotics trade.

Listen for: Listen for Tarzan's suspicions about Captain Lawrence's condition and the tense visit to Jean Duprey's mansion.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
