What happens

On a rainy Saturday, the Princey family is at home when a visitor's body is found hidden on the sun porch. Frederick Princey, his wife Millicent, their son George and their daughter Melissa are questioned about the death of the curate Withers, and the family's guest, Captain Smollett, is drawn into the dispute. The household's tense conversations reveal rivalries, a secret about Millicent's feelings, and a fear of exposure. This is the second episode of CBS's Suspense series, adapted from John Collier's short story Wet Saturday, broadcast on June 24, 1942.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
