What happens
Police Lieutenant Ben Kennedy is assigned to a hit-and-run that killed Lawrence Danker, a small-time grifter with a long arrest record. A witness, Mrs. Stessin, saw a dark sedan speed past her window but could not describe the driver or the plate. Kennedy traces broken headlight glass and maroon paint to a car that was recently taken to a repair shop on Crescent Street. Suspense, the radio drama series, presents the story with Pat O'Brien in the lead role. The episode aired on August 31, 1950, and this summary covers only its opening portion.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
