What happens

Ruby Miller, a woman living in her Los Angeles apartment, finds herself beside the body of David Madlock, a man she says she never met. Captain Salvador suspects her, and Ruby soon accepts money from a mysterious client, though she insists she does not know who he is. Her arrangement with a lawyer, Victor Sheridan, and her growing ties to wealthy society figures draw her deeper into a dangerous situation, as the police pressure her and the city's elite keep their distance. Ruby must decide how to protect herself while the truth about the killing remains unclear. The Suspense series broadcast this drama on October 19, 1950, with Barbara Stanwick in the lead role.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
