What happens

Mrs. Dremel, a widow, and her cousin Amy Hanson are the central figures in this Suspense play. After Mrs. Hanson's husband George dies, Amy takes in Miss Bohm, a severe older woman, as a boarder. The house is tense from the start, and Miss Bohm keeps a bottle of poison in her room. Amy later leaves to travel to Indiana, leaving Mrs. Dremel alone in the house with Miss Bohm. Suspense from the Columbia Broadcasting System, with Miriam Hopkins and Jeanette Nolan, first aired on October 5, 1950.

A quiet house on the edge of town, where three women live together in summer heat.

Characters: Mrs. Hanson, Miss Bohm, Mrs. Dremel, Dr. Kramer

Listen for: Miss Bohm's references to poison and the little golden vial in her room.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
