What happens

Inspector Mallinson and Chief Inspector Hendon of Scotland Yard stop a grey car on a London road and find Jeffrey Spencer, an aircraft engineer, beaten and near death in the back seat. The driver, Harold Gibson, is arrested, and under pressure he admits he was paid to take Spencer away from a house on Bronzebury Road. The detectives go to that address and find a comfortable home where a family is hosting friends for music. Hendon questions the household, starting with Leslie Addison, while the police search the house and listen for any sign of what has happened there.

London, England, during the 1950s: a quiet street, a police car pursuit, and a middle-class home on Bronzebury Road.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
