What happens
Harry Carr, a new liquor clerk at a Los Angeles supermarket, is drawn to Mary, the girl who checks the groceries there. Mary is married to Mr. Kraus, the jealous butcher, who keeps a cleaver close at hand and is quick to suspect that someone is seeing his wife. Harry is warned off by the vegetable man, Nick, and Harry's affair with Mary grows more tangled and dangerous. Tensions rise between the three men as Kraus demands to know who his wife's lover is, and the store becomes a place of growing menace after closing time.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
