What happens
Josie Archer, a former actress, learns from a newspaperman, Paul Westcott, that her late first husband Harry Mead has bought a winning sweepstakes ticket worth $150,000, but she cannot find the ticket. Her second husband, Stephen Archer, is part of the story as she is pressed on where the ticket could be. Westcott suspects the ticket might be buried with Harry and pushes for the grave to be opened. This is the episode Suspense: Post Mortem, aired on April 4, 1946, with Agnes Moorehead as the lead.
A house in a quiet town in the United States in the 1940s, and a nearby cemetery.
Characters: Josie Archer, Stephen Archer, Paul Westcott, Harry Mead, Inspector Madison
Listen for: Listen for the sweepstakes ticket that the family cannot find and the reporter's growing suspicion about Harry Mead's death.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
