What happens

Bill, a blind man who has lived alone in a remote house for five years, is visited by two strangers, Sam and Gloria, during a winter blizzard. They claim a friend was flying a plane to Mexico and crashed nearby, and they seem to want something from him. Helen, a woman who comes to check on Bill, arrives as the tension between the visitors and Bill rises. The story is set in a snowbound house where the strangers pressure Bill and the outcome of their dealings remains open. Suspense is a radio drama series, and this episode aired on April 8, 1962, starring Idol Francis with Terry Keene as Gloria and Jean Gillespie as Helen. The tale was written for the series by Erwin Lewis.

A remote house in a snowstorm, in a valley near a town

Characters: Bill, Sam, Gloria, Helen

Listen for: Bill's conversations with the strangers and the mounting pressure over the pilot's diamonds

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
