What happens
John Barbie, a widower, is trying to keep his son Carl hidden from the authorities after a kitten is killed. Barbie learns that the home plans to take the boy away, and he decides to flee with Carl, hiding the boy in the back of a truck. They reach San Diego and check into a hotel, where Barbie attracts the suspicion of the staff. The story is part of the Suspense radio series, first broadcast on March 29, 1959, starring John McIntyre.
