What happens
Oil wildcatter Wally Drake drills on a promising field with investors breathing down his neck, and an inspector named McLean and engineer Hotchkiss question his judgment. When the well blows and catches fire, Wally sets out to put it out himself with the help of his partner Smiley and a dynamite expert named Collins. Suspense presents this 1953 episode of its Hellfire story, starring John Hodiak, and the account here covers the fire and the first steps of the attempt to extinguish it.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
