What happens
Caroline Watts starts her first teaching job at the Nash School for girls, a finishing school with high stone walls. Housekeeper Miss Melody warns her that Dean Sterling has gained control over the elderly headmistress, Miss Nash, by claiming to channel messages from Miss Nash's dead sister. When Flora Nash, the headmistress's niece, collapses after a late-night party, Caroline and Melody take steps to protect her. The story is from Suspense, first broadcast on 30 December 1943, with an all-female cast led by Margot, Elsa Lanchester and Janet Beecher.

Listen for: Pay attention to how Dean Sterling's apparent charm and her claimed messages from the dead shape Miss Nash's trust, and to the medicine bottles and keys that matter to the events at the infirmary.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
