In 1930s New York, the gangster Dutch Schultz learns that a prosecutor's office is closing in on the city's numbers racket. Dutch is excluded from a syndicate meeting called to discuss the threat, and his lieutenant Ginch is left to deal with his volatile temper. Suspense presents Broderick Crawford as Dutch in this true-story drama, a 1953 broadcast of the CBS series.

New York City and Newark, New Jersey, in the 1930s

Listen for: The syndicate's debate over whether to eliminate the new prosecutor, and Dutch's growing paranoia as he is shut out of their plans.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
