What happens

Harvey Warren, a lawyer, sits alone in his office late one night after his wife Lily was murdered. He receives a strange phone call from a man named Bolster, who seems to be coming to see him at ten o'clock, and Warren frantically tries to reach his friend Lieutenant Joe Scarpone. Warren recalls the events of the morning Lily was found dead, his gun beside her, and the trial that followed. Bob Hope stars in this Suspense episode, broadcast on May 5, 1949 on the Suspense series.

A lawyer's eighth-floor office in a city office building at night, and flashbacks to his house and a courtroom.

Characters: Harvey Warren, Lily, Bolster, Lieutenant Joe Scarpone, Madge, Mike

Listen for: Warren's frantic telephone calls to Joe as the ten o'clock deadline approaches, and the sound of the elevator in the empty building.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
