What happens
Mary Norquist is alone in her home with her sick infant son, Kurt, during a pneumonia epidemic, with no nurse available and her husband Paul away on business. She must keep the baby's steam tent and sponge baths going through the night while the temperature stays dangerously high. As she waits through the hours, she recalls the years of Kurt's growing troubles, his mounting misdeeds and the strain they place on the family. The story is told in Martha Scott's lead role, and the episode is part of the CBS series Suspense, broadcast on Auto-Light's sponsorship.
The Norquist home in a city during an epidemic, with the story moving across the years of Kurt's childhood and adulthood.
Characters: Mary Norquist, Paul Norquist, Kurt Norquist, Doctor

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
