What happens
Chicago detective Jesse Crandall and Detective Sergeant Abe Delaney are escorting condemned prisoner Eddie Sitko by train to the state penitentiary at Joliet. Sitko has sworn revenge on Dallas Kenyon, the man whose testimony sent him to prison. The guards are handcuffed to their prisoner, but a sudden lurch of the train gives Sitko his chance to escape. The story follows the fugitive through Chicago as he seeks clothes, money and a weapon, and as he tries to reach Kenyon. Sitko's former girlfriend Kitty Benel and a cab driver become entangled in his search. Eyewitnesses and the police close in as the chase moves through the city. Frank, hard-edged dialogue and a tense pursuit shape the drama.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
