What happens

Oren Reed, a farmer worn down by thirty years of hard work on a dry, failing land, lives with his bitter wife Emily, whose sharp words have worn away their marriage. Her nagging and cutting remarks fill the house, and Oren struggles to keep his temper while the crops fail around them. The drama follows Oren's dealings with the Loper farm supply, where a delivery boy named Ted is sent out to his property. The Suspense program aired on September 4, 1960, and this installment is titled A Rest for Emily, written by Barre Firestone and featuring Abby Lewis as Emily, Bill Smith as Oren and Lee Graham as Mary Lee.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
