What happens

Christopher Turner, a writer for a radio mystery program, feels trapped by his editor and producer Ken Avery, who has rejected his scripts and kept him on a treadmill of murder stories. Turner decides to make a recording of a real murder, rents equipment, and begins a scheme to lure Avery's daughter Lois to his office. He tells her he wants to help her with her writing, but his intentions turn menacing as he produces a gun and forces a confrontation. The program is a Suspense episode, first broadcast on December 3, 1951, starring Richard Widmark. The story follows Turner's preparations and his tense exchanges with Lois as the situation grows dangerous.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
