What happens

Clark Kent, a reporter for the Daily Planet, finds scientist Dr. Dahlgren's laboratory robbed after his safe is blown open. The stolen steel cylinders run the doctor's atomic beam machine, and a masked criminal known as the Yellow Mask threatens to destroy the Daily Planet building at six o'clock. Lois Lane is seized and taken to a waiting plane, while Kent, who has learned that the servant Michael betrayed the doctor, races to a flying field. Superman, the strange visitor from another world, sets out to stop the Yellow Mask and save the city.

New York City, the Daily Planet building, Dr. Dahlgren's laboratory, and a nearby flying field, on the evening of the story's events.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
