What happens
Clark Kent, a reporter for the Daily Planet, collapses near a strange meteor that landed on a farm outside Metropolis and grows weak whenever he comes close to it. Dr. Turner's examination is cut short when the needle breaks against Clark's skin, and Clark seems desperate to avoid any physical examination. Back at the office, Clark searches the encyclopedia for the word he kept repeating while unconscious, and Mr. White and Lois Lane press him for answers. Clark is then told the name of the meteor, and he is left to face Lois's questions about how he could have known it. The episode is part of the Adventures of Superman series, first broadcast on June 7, 1943.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
