What happens
Clark Kent and Superman investigate a treasure hunt in the Maine woods on behalf of Perry White and Jimmy Olsen. The search leads to a cave near the sea, where the dwarf twins Jacob and Esau are found unconscious beside an empty chest. Superman tracks down a black-bearded man named Salvador, who is carrying a sack of gold coins. Part of this episode of The Adventures of Superman, first broadcast on September 4, 1945, covers the woods mystery and then shifts to Metropolis, where a heavyset man called Dr. Bly and his associate plan to deal with a shooting witness. The episode closes with a newspaper photograph of Lois Lane that alarms the schemers.
