What happens
Clark Kent and Lois Lane, reporters for The Daily Planet, pursue the disappearance of a freight car carrying five million dollars in gold. They suspect Mr. Fortune, secretary to the president of the Metropolis National Bank. When they confront the bank president, Mr. Van Doren, Fortune is found dead in his locked office, which can be reached only through Miss Bailey's outer office. Inspector Nealey takes charge of the investigation and questions the bank staff about how the body came to be there. Kent and Van Doren describe what they saw, and Miss Bailey recounts finding Fortune on the floor. Then Lois and Miss Bailey vanish from the room, and the inspector is left with another impossible disappearance.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
