What happens

Clark Kent, reporter for the Daily Planet, learns that his colleague Lois Lane has gone to the North Fishing Banks in Canada against orders. Editor Perry White is furious, having fired her in anger after she defied him. Her telegram suggests she has found a big story and warns that if she does not return within 24 hours, Clark should contact Superman. Perry explains that Horatio Hornbeam, an eccentric correspondent, believes mysterious events are stopping the fishermen's regular runs and cutting off a rare fish shipment to a wealthy man. Perry is skeptical, but Clark senses that Lois is afraid of what she is walking into. Earlier, Clark recounts his escape from the planet Utopia, where Superman carried the boys Jimmy and Poco back to Earth.

Metropolis, at the Daily Planet newspaper office, with flashback scenes on the planet Utopia and mention of the North Fishing Banks in Canada.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
