What happens

Johnny Cornell, a San Francisco club manager, and his singer Trudy Evans work at Sharky's, a rough Barbary Coast saloon, where a risky new act gets them thrown out. Sam Weaver, a prospector, offers Johnny a tip about gold near Sonora, and Johnny later opens a rival club across the street. Trudy's career takes a turn when a London producer makes her an offer, and Johnny's own choices start to pull the pair apart. The Lady Esther Screen Guild Players present this musical radio adaptation of the 20th Century Fox film Hello Frisco, Hello, broadcast April 3, 1944, with Jenny Sims, Dick Powell and Jack Oakie in the leads.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
