What happens
Bill and Connie Fuller buy an old colonial house in the country, a place once slept in by George Washington. The house has no running water, no usable road, and a leaking kitchen wall, and the couple's money drains away on repairs and expenses. Their neighbor Mr. Prescott disputes their drive and their water, and Bill's nephew Raymond adds to the trouble. Connie's uncle Stanley arrives with unexpected news. This is the Screen Guild Theater's radio adaptation of the Warner Brothers comedy George Washington Slept Here, broadcast on November 8, 1943, with Jack Carson as Bill and Carole Landis as Connie.
A dilapidated colonial farmhouse in the countryside, once said to have been slept in by George Washington.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
