What happens

In the rough Montana town of Bottleneck, saloon owner Kent and his partner Frenchie run a crooked operation, and when Sheriff Joe Keogh tries to shut them down he vanishes. The drunken Walsh is named the new sheriff and sends for Tom Destry, a deputy who famously carries no gun. Destry arrives to find a town ruled by fear and sets out to uncover what happened to Keogh. Henry Fonda plays Destry, Paulette Goddard plays Frenchie, Lloyd Nolan plays Kent and Walter Brennan plays Walsh. This Screen Guild Theater broadcast of 1941-02-02 presents the story as an adaptation of the film Destry Rides Again.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
