What happens

Alan Trent, back from the First World War, returns to the English country house where he grew up, hoping to marry his childhood sweetheart Kitty Vane. Their wedding plans are interrupted by orders to report for duty, and the two spend one night together. Years later, Alan, now calling himself Roger Crane and blinded by the war, lives quietly in a country cottage. This Screen Guild Theater radio adaptation of the Samuel Goldwyn film Dark Angel stars Merle Oberon as Kitty Vane, Ronald Colman as Alan Trent, and Donald Crisp as Sir George Barton.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
