What happens

Professor William Shelby, a psychology teacher, and his wife are held at gunpoint in their home by Hal Wilson, a fugitive gangster who hides there overnight with his companion Maisie. Wilson holds the household at bay while Shelby uses questions about dreams, fixations and his troubled past to win the criminal's confidence and unsettle him. The tense standoff unfolds in the Screen Guild Theater's radio drama Blind Alley, adapted from a James Warwick story, broadcast on February 25, 1940, starring Edward G. Robinson and Joseph Calleia.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
