What happens

Two U.S. Marines on shore leave in an Australian port, Biff Koreski and Jeff Reardon, meet Joyce Stewart and her friend at a service canteen. Biff claims to be a friend of Cyril, a wounded soldier Joyce wants to thank, and Joyce begins to suspect that Jeff is confused about who he is. The Screen Guild Theater presents this radio adaptation of the Edward Small production Abroad with Two Yanks, first broadcast on April 9, 1945, starring William Bendix, Dennis O'Keefe and Marjorie Reynolds. The Marines' antics lead them into mistaken identities and trouble with the local authorities.

A large Australian port city during World War II, including a service canteen, the Stewart home, a country club and a military brig

Characters: Biff Koreski, Jeff Reardon, Joyce Stewart, Phyllis, Cyril, Dr. French, Quentin Quail

Listen for: Biff's dry banter with Jeff, and Jeff's escalating confusion about his identity as Joyce tries to keep the peace

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
