What happens
Roger Burton, Bill Anthony, Mike Ward and Richard Aiken each describe the woman they know as Susan, and Richard, who is about to marry her, asks them to explain which Susan is real. Roger recalls meeting her on a Rhode Island island, where she is a naive country girl who refuses to act, until he coaxes her toward a stage career. The story follows her shifting personality through their romance and marriage, the stage play, and a series of encounters with the four men. Screen Director's Playhouse presents this 1949 radio adaptation of The Affairs of Susan, starring Joan Fontaine.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
