Major Whitfield Corbett, an American intelligence officer, is sent to Indochina to find Martin Bruner, a former SS colonel and one of the last top Nazis unaccounted for after the war. Posing as a recruit, Corbett boards a train full of French Foreign Legion volunteers, where a French colonel is murdered and suspicion falls on several men. Corbett meets an art dealer, a mechanic, and a cafe singer named Lily, and begins to suspect a former Nazi named Sergeant Stein. This episode of Screen Director's Playhouse, aired May 17, 1951, stars Dick Powell as Corbett, Peggy Dow, and Alex Nicol.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
