What happens
Ranger Bill, a forest ranger in the American West, and his companions Henry, Gray Wolf and Stumpy take in Jerry, a frightened teenager who has run away after a schoolhouse fire and the death of his father. Jerry is afraid of nearly everything, from horses to snakes to the dark. When heavy rain floods the bottom lands, Bill and the others set out in a life raft to rescue two small children marooned in a house surrounded by floodwater. Ranger Bill is a radio drama from the series of the same name, first broadcast on 22 May 1959.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
