What happens
Dick Mitchell works for his uncle Onk Mitchell at a river barge company in Junction City, and the two often clash over how the business should be run. Onk is worn out by constant engine breakdowns and talks of quitting, while Dick believes the company needs new ideas. Dick proposes hauling truck trailers on barges as a faster route to Naughty Pine, and he begins pitching the plan to railroad and trucking men. Onk, meanwhile, is pressed by rival buyers. Ranger Bill, a friend of the family, urges Dick to press on, and a test run tests whether the idea can work on the river.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
