What happens

Ranger Bill Jefferson and his sidekick Stumpy Jenkins investigate strange happenings at Blue Lake, a mountain resort where tourists are alarmed after fishing lines are cut and a golf club is bent. Fishermen have been losing their catches from their stringers, a golfer has been grabbed by something hidden in the brush, and a boy reports being pulled into the water off the pier. Ben Stout, who runs the High Ridge Lodge, fears guests will leave unless the trouble is resolved. The rangers gather clues around the lake and piece together what might be causing the disturbances. This is the Ranger Bill radio series, first broadcast on July 31, 1957.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
