What happens
Ranger Bill Jefferson and his companions go to White Lake after Sheriff Cal Calvert reports a sea monster and a wrecked boat. Two fishermen, Bob and Al, describe being attacked by a towering creature in the morning mist. The rangers examine the wreckage and search old newspaper reports, which describe similar sightings going back decades. Bill and the others weigh the fishermen's account against the record of earlier reports, while the mist makes every sighting hard to judge. The series is Ranger Bill, and the episode first aired on May 11, 1960.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
